The property was very clean, nice, walkable to a few restaurants. The host was very easy to communicate with. It was great having several choices of programming on the tv’s. We’d stay here again!
Adam was easy to communicate with, the place was very clean and in a great location. Unfortunately they started construction and for that reason we left early the noise was intolerable.
Place was spacious and clean. Host was very responsive. Close to the base for son’s marine corps graduation. Only two draw backs were parking and the amount of homeless people lurking in alley and street. We have a big family and rented expedition and there’s only one parking spot that was a tight fit.
Will definitely purchase again!!! It was so convenient and close to EVERYTHING!, host was responsive, clean house which felt like home. 10/10 definitely would recommend thank you so much for giving me a great stay!

Adam was a proactive about the check in/out process. The home was found clean and in wonderful condition. Location was also very convenient as we were close to the beach and nice restaurants. Would consider coming back if in the area.

It was a great experience esp since this was our first time getting an Air BnB. The home had a vintage outside and modern vibe inside, beautiful home. It was very clean and comfortable.. Adam provided detailed instructions to make check in and check out very easy! Adam also provided everything we needed to make our stay pleasant including household necessities, restaurant and things to do recommendations. The place is roughly 10min to the convention center making it very convenient for our stay. Highly recommend this home away from home!
Great location. Very comfortable and fully met our needs with 3 teenage children. Comfortable beds and lounge gave us all space after full days seeing the sights of San Diego. Highly recommend.

Adam’s house is a unique home as a small carriage house behind a larger historic home. While the exterior is old, the interior has been tastefully renovated and fitted out. The bedrooms are peaceful and tastefully arranged. The kitchen is an older style but well equipped. The laundry machines are efficient and effective. We loved the size - while compact everyone had their own space. Instructions were clear and Adam was very responsive. We booked at the last minute and it made no difference. We would happily stay here again.

Adam's rental is a perfect choice for families with small children. It's felt like everything was within a fifteen minute drive, so a great location to have a home base.

Our stay at the carriage house was great! It was clean and simple. We had 4 adults and 4 kids under 5. Street parking was easy for the 2nd vehicle. We liked the central location with many of our destinations less than 10 minutes away and no more than 25. There is truly no yard but the neighborhood is walkable and parks and beaches are a short drive away. Trolley Barn was our favorite park. La Jolla Shores was our favorite beach with a park. Having a pack and play and some kids books was so helpful. The washing machines are speed queens which are fast and cut down on time to get a load of laundry done. It was a nice home base for us.
Cute clean place. We were there for a quick business trip. Only 8 min drive to convention center. Quite neighborhood. Bedrooms spacious and beds were very comfortable! I would highly recommend! Super Cute!

Great location to see all of San Diego!
Location was convenient and clean. For guests there is 1 designated parking spot and if you have a large vehicle it is a little tricky. If you have guests they are to park on the street. If you are a light sleeper I highly recommend bringing ear buds as it is a noisy area. There is sirens nightly, the neighbors dog barks every time it is outside, constant car doors and the carriage house is actually behind there house/office that is currently being remodeled. Other than that it is very nice and clean air bnb with Adam being a responsive host.

The Good:
• Nice-sized beds and a smart layout with all bedrooms located upstairs (not on the ground floor).
• TVs in every room and sound machines in each bedroom were a great touch.
• Electronic check-in and check-out was very convenient.
• Coffee was provided, which was appreciated.
The Not-So-Good:
• Beds and pillows were very firm and uncomfortable for our group.
• Would have felt more secure with additional locks on the front door.
• Showers were challenging: the shower heads were set quite low, and the water mixing valve didn’t work well—temperature was either very hot or very cold with little in between.
Summary:
Overall, a solid option for the price with good amenities, but some comfort and safety improvements—especially bedding and shower fixtures—would make this a much better stay.
Adam was a most gracious host. Always responsive and was flexible with us when we were unable to leave on our departure day due to weather back home. The house was perfect for our needs. It was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. There were clear and detailed instructions for everything, making it easy for us to enjoy our time instead of trying to decipher issues. The location was perfect, no more than 15 minutes to everywhere we went. A great taco spot was just down the street! Wonderful home, would for sure stay here again.

A short walk to petco stadium (30 mins) if you decide to travel by foot.

Adam had a great place that we stayed for 3 days over the Christmas break. We had 2 toddlers with us and they had a blast. He had a great app to request things during check in and get answers to all the questions.

I highly recommend this home. It was very well appointed and spotlessly cleaned. The location is fantastic – a walk to Balboa Park and close entrances to highways. The house is remarkable quiet given the proximity to the airport. Adam was very responsive to my questions. Check in/out was easy and not encumbered with a host of tasks. The surroundings are well-lit and felt safe in this quaint neighborhood. I would rent here again.
Great location, nicely remodeled , good size kitchen and clean bathrooms. Neighbors where a bit noisy with dogs, but all in all, a nice place to stay in. Adam was accommodating. One aspect that I did not like was leaving the VRBO app to enter my personal information on another site (Ethos) to get check in instructions. All should be in VRBO app and no need to enter personal information in managing site.

This place was perfect for our little group. The perfect location, all of our weekend activities were within a 10 minute drive. Adam was super friendly and checked in on us after the first night to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay.

Para nosotros el alojamiento estuvo excelente pues íbamos con niños para visitar Legoland, Sea world y el zoológico de San Diego, por lo que estaba muy céntrico y con salidas fáciles a rutas rápidas.
También estaba muy cerca de una gran variedad de restaurantes.

Overall, the stay was nice, the property was clean, but the floors needed mopped, beds are not comfortable, and neither are the pillows unless you like firm bedding. They did not provide any laundry detergent like advertised and only left us 2 trash bags for a 5 day stay. The refrigerator is a small apartment size with no ice maker. Sectional sofa in living room is also stiff and its missing cushions, there is no outdoor seating areas to enjoy the SD weather, (and they did have a small space they could have utilized.) Also, if your tall like my family the shower height is about 4.5 feet. it's very difficult if your taller than that. (both are like this).
I also noticed when we would turn the thermostat down, the temp would get changed and moved back up... not sure if it was a program setting or the mngmt was changing. We appreciate the stay and hoping this honest feedback will help you improve.

If you’re looking for a close place to stay for the marines corps events (family day/graduation) this house is only a few minutes away from there! Family and I absolutely loved it, House is beautiful! Area surrounding is great, grocery stores near by, also other local attractions near by too! Family and I felt right at home we felt safe at all times. Host (Adam) was great! Super friendly and always attentive! We had a wonderful experience 🙂

Adam was a great friendly host. He checked in frequently throughout our visit and answered questions promptly. The accommodations were as described. The rooms were spacious with comfortable beds. The kitchen had necessary utensils and cookwares to make meals if you felt like eating in. The neighbors were very friendly. His home was a great fit for our family trip. The location was perfect, within 2 miles or less from the zoo and other focal points. We would love to stay there again if we return to San Diego.
This place was truly a GEM AND RARE FIND! It was so comfy and so beautiful and bright! It literally takes you to another world! The house is so well equipped and had everything you may need within reach. It had so much space and the beds were so comfortable! You really can’t ask for more! After an exhausting day exploring Beautiful San Diego it was nice to come and relax here! The Host Adam was GREAT he checked up on us to make sure everything was running great! It’s nice to know that there was always someone there if anything were to arise! (Which everything ran smoothly). The home is family friendly! Thank you Adam for being an amazing host and opening up your home to my family. Don’t miss out on this GEM! I will for sure book here again when visiting San Diego again!

Overall, a very quaint, charming home that was clean and great for a short extended weekend stay. Property manager was communicative and nice. The home is a short drive from downtown. The neighborhood does have some vagrants, but that in some ways goes with the territory of being close to downtown, so it may be unavoidable. A negative is that we found the showers to be too small and we are not particularly large people. This was manageable though.

We had a marvelous stay at Adam’s place. It is centrally located in a quiet neighborhood. We had our 10-month-old twins and 3-year-old toddler. It was very clean and felt comfortable allowing the girls to play on the floor. We all slept peacefully. The house has many features not in other homes. The neighbors were pleasant and helpful.
Adam is extremely responsive. We had a problem parking one afternoon and Adam immediately responded and rectified the situation.
Additionally Adam went out of his way to retrieve our iPad we left behind and is sending it to our home.
I highly recommend The Carriage House. We would happily stay again.
This is a beautiful and historic mansion very close to Balboa Park and museums, the zoo, old town Gaslamp quarter, airport, and cruise ship terminal. There is free parking at Balboa and free trolleys that go from the park to the Gaslamp district and throughout the city where you can hop on and off to sightsee. The stay at The Carriage House is in a surprisingly quiet neighborhood with little traffic. The upper story of the house has 3 large bedrooms and the second bathroom with ceiling fans and windows that open for cool ocean breezes. Downstairs is another large bathroom, and a nice kitchen well stocked with anything you could possibly need to prepare meals. Costco is 8 minutes from the house, and I spent less than 300 to feed six people 3 meals a day for our four-day 3-night stay (including a decent wine at dinner). Communication with the host was easy and the one difficulty I had (my technological challenge) with checking in was immediately answered. I traveled with my 90 year old mother who absolutely loved the trip as she had peace and privacy when she needed. This was a 10/10 trip, and I look forward to returning.
We enjoyed our stay very much, everything was just as described in the listing. Adam was quick to respond when we had questions. There is one designated parking spot right in front of the cottage, perfect for a midsize car. For larger size cars or trucks there is free street parking close by. Prime location in a cute quiet neighborhood with plenty of restaurants to choose from and just a short drive to the San Diego Zoo. We would definitely stay here again when visiting San Diego.

the house was great. tall people be careful the shower heads are very low. there's alot of white accessories, white towels white dishes white beds we have small children we decided to buy some towels and blankets to prevent dirtying up thier things. the reserved parking spot is great but one of the days it was taken by someone using the business in the same lot as the house. small grocery store walking distance away has most everything needed. there's tvs for all the places to sleep and each rooms bed were comfortable. overall great stay we had a good time and would consider staying again.
The place was super clean when we got there, everything was very easy to find and both bathrooms where very spacious. It fitted the 8 of us very well. Downtown was very close and we were able to walk to balboa park. Great stay overall!

We had a lovely stay! Spacious, clean, quiet, and in a walkable neighborhood with nearby restaurants and markets. A few short blocks to Golden Hills park - a very nice walk. Adam was very prompt in providing information to get in and also checked in to make sure we had all we needed. Would stay again for sure!

We had an awesome stay at Adam’s place and would absolutely stay here again. Had all the amenities and then some for my young family. Pack n play, baby gate on stairs, high chair, SOUNG MACHINES!!! The beds were huge and so comfy, kitchen was great, washer and dryer with detergent ready to go! Couldn’t ask for more and would definitely recommend.

One of the top air bnbs I've stayed at. very clean and affordable. It fit 7 of us very very comfortably. Very close to airport, Gaslamp Quarter and little Italy. I highly recommend this place if you're on the fence.

Wonderful spot for my family to spend a long wedding weekend in San Diego. My family and I found plenty of room to spread out and share a couple of in-house meals. Neighborhood is also walkable for other food options.
Also, proximity to downtown, airport, beaches, and Balboa Park--all things we took advantage of--was superb! TV's were also connected to so many services--wonderful to watch some weekend football between other events.
We had a lovely time. The rental was in a location easy to get to and from everything we needed. Plenty of room as well.

It was a perfect location - walk to restaurants and stores. It's central location made it convenient to get to the zoo, Midway, and Coronado. Kitchen set-up was great (tea, coffee, and spices were included). The AC was fabulous when it hit 98°.

The home was perfect for the group of 5. It’s in a very quiet residential area and everyone in the area is friendly. The house definitely feels like your own home. Downtown ride share is only 5 minutes away from the home can’t get much better than that! I will definitely stay here again the host was amazing and attentive to our needs. I recommend 10/10

Adam’s listing was great, my daughters had a lot of fun playing card games and reading the books provided. All the attractions were less than 20 minutes away!
Nice guy and tried to help. Floor downstairs in kitchen was not cleaned well and several large roaches were in the kitchen and bathrooms. Freaked out the kids.
Upon entering the property we were relieved to find the home looked exactly like the pictures! Now, beyond the pictures.. The parking was very tight & compact; as were the ceilings & showers in this home. I’m 5’2 & felt very tall. I could reach many ceilings upstairs & the shower head was at eye level for me. While the home appeared clean at a glance we quickly began noticing issues with cleanliness. For example, many dishes stored in cabinets as “clean” were visually dirty. I do believe that because the homes “check-out” instructions direct the prior guest to wash the dishes that a thorough wash may not always be guaranteed by the last guest. During our stay we killed about three spiders & I’m terrified of bugs. To make matters worse, our final night here we were greeted by a COCKROACH in the upstairs bathroom & decided to vacate right away. Adam was a great host, but unfortunately his home did not meet our standards of a quality stay. I would not recommend or return to this property.

Adam was a fantastic host. The cottage is such a lovely place! I rented this cottage for a work week with my team (all female). It was nice and spacious and we felt very safe here . There were 4 of us sleeping there comfortably and we had our local team there for dinner and meetings as well and the space was ideal for all of it. We called it command central because it really functioned so well for our work mission but also allowed us to relax and retreat at the end of our work day. Crisp, clean, soft bedding! Tons of pillows and warm blankets. Plenty of towels. The kitchen was awesome-fully equipped! The restaurants in San Diego were phenomenal so we kept bringing home these amazing leftovers and reheating and eating but you could absolutely do some cooking in this kitchen. Access to Gas Lamp and other hip and fun spots to eat and have a night out were excellent. $7 Uber ride to the hot spots in the city. Highly recommend! Thanks for being such a great host.
Cute LITTLE place, smaller than expected. Definitely not for 10 people comfortably. The house is very clean! Takes about 30 minutes for walking to the Gaslamp downtown area. Host was very friendly and attentive.

Visiting from Florida to attend a Navy graduation, we were very new to this area. This sweet place was close to everything: Coronado, Balboa Park, La Jolla, all the local hot spots, and so much more. Bonus, it was a short walk to some great restaurants and a liquor store.
We felt very safe at this location. Adam, the host, was easy to communicate with and very responsive. We would stay here again if back in the area.

The place was very clean for most parts, and an issue we had early on was solved with Adam’s responsiveness.
Adam’s instructions are meticulous and this made things very easy during checkin and check out.
Next time when I’m in town and I want a hassle free stay while conducting business, I will stay here again.
P.S: Something to note is that the parking spot appears smaller in the photos than it is - I was able to park my Ford Expedition inside the lines with ease!
Location is great. Two story older home with 3 bedrooms one bathroom on upper floor. Second bathroom on lower floor. Beds and bedrooms are super comfy. Bathrooms and Kitchen adequate although a bit inconvenient. This place is best for one family without many females. I would book again the value is good.

The location of this Airbnb was perfect. The house itself was very clean and quaint. Adam was very responsive and helped whenever we had a question! It was great stay overall!

Enjoyed our stay here! Very convenient location, close to downtown and felt very safe. Very spacious place with three large rooms and two full bathrooms. Easy and flexible check in process. The owner even kept some legos and games in the living room, which were awesome distractions for our kids. Some small inconveniences were the parking spot being very compact for our mini-van which made it difficult for the kids to climb out of both doors if staying between the white lines. The bed was a bit firm and all of the pillows were overly stuffed for my tastes which made sleeping at nigh a bit uncomfortable. Regardless, I would recommend this place for families!

Adam’s place was a great stay. Friends and I were in town for a conference and it gave us a peaceful place away from the downtown bustle but still nice and close to all sites. Highly recommend!
Great home base for a stay in San Diego. 1-2 miles to downtown (transiting a not so great area), so would recommend driving to area attractions. But the house itself and surrounding neighborhood were very comfortable/safe. Well appointed. Very comfortable beds!

Amazing stay!
It’s very clean with huge bed in each room and every room has a TV. It fits our family of five perfectly. The house is privately located in a very convenient neighborhood. We didn’t rent a car and it was always an easy Uber ride for us to get around. I’ll definitely stay again if we are back in town.
LOVED this place! We stayed for my birthday week and it was just so perfect. If you’re looking to go downtown it’s a 7 min drive and a straight shot. So made it super easy for us. Location was perfect and it was in a quiet neighborhood. So we felt safe walking around to the restaurants or 7eleven down the street. When we got to the house it even smelt clean when we walked in. Wowzers!
A goods night rest before going out is a must and these beds were SO comfortable. I would book this again.

This house went beyond my expectations for quick stay. I loved everything about this house . Adam is a very responsive host and he is always available.
The house is really close to downtown and many beautiful places in San Diego. The neighborhood is very peaceful as well . Definitely coming back !!!!
We rented Adam’s place while we were in town for the Marine Boot Camp graduation for my son. Everything in the home was just as it was listed. Adam was very quick to reply and made sure we had arrived and provided reassurance. This was my first time renting a AirBnB and I will surely rent from Adam again when we are back in town!
Adam was awesome! Even before we were heading over Adam was already communicating with me on how to find the home and everything we needed to move in. He was also very accommodating and allowed us to drop off our luggage before check in as we arrived really early. This is definitely a place I will use again. 5 stars!
The place was really nice. It felt like a very safe neighborhood. It was very well maintained and communication was good. It was quick to get downtown and there are a couple of very good restaurants two block up. It is a very comfortable house to stay in.
We had a lovely stay in San Diego at Adam's place. It was surprisingly large and had everything we needed. I was able to walk to the convention center and enjoy the beautiful weather, and we enjoyed Kingfisher restaurant which was trendy, delicious, and had nice cocktails just a few steps away. Would definitely return!

Great location because we wanted to be near downtown and south park. Host was very responsive and able to accommodate early check in. Steps were a little creaky and walls weren't too bad. We only had one loud snorer and could barely hear him. Would book again.

We were attending a conference and this place was an easy drive to the conference center (<2 miles). It is a safe neighborhood, with restaurants within walkable distance. There is one onsite parking which was very convenient and we were also able to find street parking. The place was cozy, comfortable, very clean, and quiet. The showers had hot water, decent water pressure, and super clean. Each room has a large TV. The beds were comfortable. Adam was very responsive and friendly. I would definitely stay here again in the future!
The carriage house is a beautiful home both inside and out. We were delighted that it was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. It was a peaceful stay. We would most definitely stay again!

Adam was a very communicative host! His place was as described, looked like the pictures, and was clean. We met up with our friends who traveled from Europe and it was absolutely perfect for two families traveling with young children. The house had coffee and tea, soap and detergent, and toiletries in the showers. Both bathrooms had hair dryers and clean towels and Adam was very accommodating for two toddlers needing a pack n play crib.
The house is located in an OK neighborhood. Not many places to walk to.
The beds were comfortable. There wasn’t too much water pressure in the showers.
The kitchen had the essentials, the cutlery drawer was stuck, it took a good pull to open. Overall it was an OK stay.
Adam’s place was clean and as described. The area was fantastic with plenty of great restaurants within a few minute walk. Zoo and Balboa park and nearby. My kids loved that every bedroom had a TV. I’d definitely stay here again.

Everything about the stay went perfectly. Not too far from local shops and restaurants and just minutes from downtown. The home itself was just as advertised. Very clean, organized and comfortable. Definitely would stay again.

Very clean and exactly like the photos. Adam was quick and friendly with all our questions. Location is ideal for driving to airport, beaches, Zoo, SeaWorld, Little Italy-all within ~ 10 min. Adam even left great recommendations for local stores and restaurants. We did not feel comfortable walking the immediate area with our young children, however did feel completely safe at the home. SUV fit fine in parking spot, home easily fit 6 with room to spare. We had a great vacation!
Adams home was just as described and his communication was quick and concise. We loved being able to walk down the street for a quick smoothie, bite of Mexican food, or groceries. I had never stayed in this area in the past, but this spot made me definitely think about visiting again. Definitely recommended for up to 8 people.
